Profile
In 2001, Hyne Timber purchased the Tumbarumba Mill. Located on the western side of the Snowy Mountains in New South Wales, the Tumbarumba Mill marked Hyne’s single biggest investment and a conscious decision to move into the southern markets.
The Tumba Mill, as it’s affectionately known, processes ~620,000m3 of log a year, or the equivalent of ~25,000* timber framed homes. In fact, the daily volume of structural framing produced on-site would stretch from Tumbarumba to Melbourne.
Like our Tuan Mill, there is no wastage at Tumba. All by-products generated are either used as biofuel to heat the mill’s heat plant or sold on to customers, such as Visy.
